Dinosaur World in Plant City, just outside Orlando, is home to 150 lifesize dinosaurs, a fossil dig, gift shops, a picnic area, a skeleton garden, a movie cave, playground and much more. Now the dinosaur themed park is expanding to twice its size by adding 12 new acres that will include two new playgrounds, a dinosaur museum with animatronic dinosaurs, and lots more dinosaurs around the park.
Part of the new addition is now open. There are two new playgrounds - one specially designed for kids under the age of 7, and one for everyone else. And a new gift shop with over 5,000 sq. ft. of everything dinosaur is waiting for dinosaur lovers to explore.
The new Prehistoric Museum will open February 29 and will feature everything from dinosaur eggs to raptor claws. But the real draw at the new museum will be the five animatronic dinosaurs - Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Pterodactyl and of course T-Rex.
The fossil dig, a favorite of kids of all ages, has also been expanded to accommodate lots more young palentologists.
Dinosaur World is open from 9am-5pm and is located at Exit 17 on Interstate 4 in Plant City. For more information, click here.
