According to University of Calgary Assistant Athletic Director Ben Matchett on the University of Calgary Dinos website, the University of Calgary Dinos will play the Mount Royal University Cougars in men's and women's hockey at the Scotiabank Saddledome on February 7 in an announcement made on Wednesday.
Recognized as the Crowchild Classic because the University of Calgary is located just off of Crowchild Trail north and Mount Royal University is located just off of Crowchild Trail south, it will be interesting to see if this will be an annual event.
In men's hockey, the Dinos are in fourth place in the Canada West with a record of 13-7, while the Cougars are in seventh place with a record of 4-15-1. Eric Galbraith of the Cougars currently leads the Canada West Conference with 13 goals.
