According to University of Calgary assistant athletics director Ben Matchett on Tuesday evening, the University of Calgary Dinos are ranked number one in Canadian Interuniversity Sport men's hockey for the first time since 1996.

The Dinos are 15-0-1, and have a three point lead on the University of Alberta Golden Bears at 14-2-0. The Dinos were mysteriously ranked below the Golden Bears last week despite the fact that the Dinos had the better record at the time.

The Dinos are getting strong offensive production this season from forwards Chris Collins, Taylor Stefishen and Kevin King, along with defenseman Giffen Nyren, who are each averaging more than a point per game.

Collins leads the Dinos with 13 goals and 24 points, while Stefishen leads the Dinos with 19 assists.

The Dinos will now take a well deserved break for final exams and Christmas before taking on Mount Royal University on January 3. The Dinos will also play an exhibition game on Friday against the Bentley Generals at Father David Bauer Arena.
