According to the University of Calgary Dinos website, the University of Calgary Dinos have advanced to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's hockey championship tournament and the Canada West women's hockey final with a 3-1 win over the University of Alberta Pandas at Father David Bauer Arena Sunday afternoon.
The Dinos, who lost 5-3 to the Pandas in game two of the series Saturday night, bounced back with a win in an elimination game on Sunday to take the best of three series 2-1.
Forward Elana Lovell of Kamloops, British Columbia led the Dinos with two goals, while defenceman Kelsie Lang of Edmonton, Alberta had two assists. Amanda Tapp made 16 saves in the victory.
The Dinos will now play the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in the Canada West women's hockey championship next weekend at Calgary's Father David Bauer Arena and then at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's hockey championship tournament in Toronto from March 7-10.
