The Burns Flat Cumberland Presbyterian Church announced today that there will be a benefit spaghetti dinner for Aubree Walker on Sunday, November 3rd 2013 from noon to 2:00 p.m. The dinner will be held at Will Rogers Elementary School in Burns Flat, Oklahoma.
Aubree has a vascular anomaly that prohibits her from being able to walk properly. The only place in the country—perhaps in the world—that is equipped to treat her is in Boston. As the family will surely incur considerable medical and travel expense so that Aubrey might receive further diagnosis and treatment, the church is challenging the community to help.
The Spaghetti Dinner is the church’s role in this helping effort. Tickets will not be sold, but everyone in the western Oklahoma area is asked to come to the dinner. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. Those who cannot come may make a donation to the Aubree Walker fund at Great Plains National Bank in Burns Flat.
This may be a protracted process. Seldom are their quick fixes to complicated conditions so the community is asked to be very generous in helping this young girl to receive the treatments and care she needs to walk just like other kids.
