Thanksgiving: a time to give thanks for the little things in life like our special relatives who place their teeth in cups at the dinner table, tip the wine box until it's dry and cousins who make passes at us because they're married in.
Feeling like your new boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't need to be a subjected to this lewd conduct? Or perhaps you need to grab a drink with some sane friends after dessert to alleviate some
family stress (see this examiner article for a list of
open bars).
Whatever the case is,
Anaheim has a plethora of restaurants and places to go for those who just need something new and less strange.
For the classy type trying to impress a wife to be; the Anaheim White House will allow you to order a la carte and a la expensive. Flash that black American Express card you borrowed from your buddy and treat her like the lady she is with lavish appetizers, wine and enjoy the
holiday sans Grandma Ruth.
For those on a budget:
Marie Callendar's is open for business. Here, you can get a traditional Thanksgiving meal as well as the traditional feel of being at your relatives. The decor is cozy and
antiqued, if you're looking for that homey feeling.
If you're looking to save a dime and possibly have a good time:
Keno's is serving dinner as well. Because nothing is more romantic than the smell of mahogany and a game of Bingo.
They also have karaoke so grab a group of friends after dinner and sing your aggression out. Everyone will feel much better after singing every Whitney Houston track on the playlist.
If you’re traveling, Disneyland Resort has the Napa Rose in their Grand California Hotel. Enjoy fine wine, for their winery is one of the best as well as a four course menu for Thanksgiving. Then take a stroll down Main Street in the Disneyland Park as it snows during their firework show at 9:25 p.m. (see this
video).
Disneyland also has a
Thanksgiving feast buffet that is good for families in the Grand Ballroom of the Disneyland Hotel. This is traditional so the kids won't be crying because the resort made a buffet especially for them (for more Disneyland options as well as other restaurants serving dinner click
here).
Of course, if you just want to hibernate in your apartment because you told your parents you're traveling for work this four day weekend,
Boston Market and the
Honey Baked Ham Co. have Thanksgiving meals prepared so you can still watch Snoopy tower over Central Park without the ding of the oven.
