One of the most beautiful properties on O‘ahu is The Kāhala Hotel & Resort. It's an oceanfront destination resort known for its impeccable service and hospitality.

It’s always a treat for kamaaina to visit (or stay) so when the hotel recently came out with their dining and special events calendar for January 2014, it started a planning process that will include a trip to check out what’s happening.

“Down Memory Lane” live radio broadcast, hosted by Michael Perry & Larry Price The Perry & Price Radio Show will broadcast live from the Plumeria Beach House on January 22 and 23, 2014 from 5:00 am to 10:00 am. They will showcase music and entertainers from the different eras. Enjoy delicious breakfast favorites from years and chefs past, including kosher scramble - smoked salmon with parsley, traditional eggs benedict, buttermilk banana mac nut pancakes, quiche Lorraine, raisin bread french toast and corned beef hash & eggs.

The Plumeria Beach House Friday and Saturday night seafood buffet is the best in town. Visit all the stations, from salads and chilled seafood, to the pasta bar and carving tables to pick and choose your favorites. Assorted domestic and imported cheeses and hot soups, as well and sliced fresh fruits and a wide variety of tantalizing and tempting desserts round out your meal. It’s the best seafood bargain in town. Main entrees change nightly and seasonally for the best variety.

Enjoy piano jazzman David Swanson playing contemporary and classic tunes with a jazz infusion nightly, Tuesday through Saturday in The Veranda lounge from 7:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. Take your date on a twirl around the dance floor or enjoy the night air and ocean views on the lanai. This comfortable lounge overlooks the Dolphin Lagoon with a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Large, upholstered chairs are perfect and extra comfy for lingering over a cocktail or late night, after dinner snacks. Cocktails, assorted pupu selections, and casual dessert fare are offered on the menu from The Kahala kitchens.

The Veranda’s globally-inspired menu features small plates and appetizers, salads, main entrees, and desserts. Graze to your hearts content! A Mix of Fusion, Blues, Latin-influenced and Contemporary Hawaiian Artists

The Sunday Scene at The Kahala’s Veranda lounge begins at 7:30 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. This weekly live music event celebrates and showcases the best of Hawaii’s musicians performing many genres of contemporary music, from Hawaiian contemporary to blues to reggae to soft jazz. The musicians change weekly, but the venue is always the same—comfy, cozy, and serving cuisine and cocktails that are creative and delicious.

Enjoy assorted appetizer selections such as flat bread pizzas and “ducked” Brussels sprouts, small plates, salads, entrees, and casual dessert fare. The Veranda’s new global cuisine-inspired menu is new and different and creates unusually good companions to the mixologist’s creative cocktails. The Veranda is beautifully decorated in Tommy Bahama furnishings with cocktail tables or casual conversation pits both indoor, and outdoor on the lanai overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the dolphin lagoon. Try a variety of delicious curries from around the world served with all the condiments every Wednesday at lunchtime at the ocean front Plumeria Beach House. Enjoy salads and dessert selections too—it’s all you can eat. A la carte menu selections are also available including the popular and near-famous Kahala Burger, Chinese Hoisin Roasted Chicken Salad, and the Pipikaula Reuben Sandwich.
