Diners find happiness at Thasos Greek Taverna

Thasos Greek Taverna’s welcoming environment makes it a place where people come in as customers and leave as friends. Being blocks away from the ocean adds to the exhilarating feel of the restaurant, and outdoor Mediterranean dining area makes the perfect place for conversation and relaxation while enjoying the soothing ocean breeze..

The restaurant, located at 3330 E. Oakland Park Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, is open Monday-Thursday: 12:00pm – 11:00pm, Friday-Saturday 12:00pm-12:00am, and Sunday 11:00am-11:00pm. The trendy dining hotspot is busy gearing up for an evening of celebration on New Year’s Eve, with a live DJ spinning and mixing tunes throughout the night.

The restaurant will serve their usual a-la-carte fare on their first seating at 6:30pm. The second seating, beginning at 9:30pm, features a five-course, pre-fixe dinner, priced at $125 per person, excluding tax and gratuity, as well as a champagne toast and midnight party favors.

The menu was prepared by renowned Chef William D’Auvra, and will leave you with a taste you will remember all next year.

In addition to their holiday celebration, the fine dining destination, which has been well-regarded for its authentic Greek cuisine, is introducing two new weekly happy hours.

Every Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thasos Greek Taverna will unveil their new Greek Happy Hour, a seductive extension to the daily happy hour (4-7 p.m.). There, you can enjoy $5 cocktails and two for one wines with a live DJ spinning and mixing tunes throughout the night and surprise entertainment.

The restaurant will be serving crispy zucchini chips and keftedes (lamb meat balls) complimentary at the bar. Guests can sip on a Hibiscus Martini - Vodka and Falemum; White Cosmo - Absolut Citron infused with white cranberry juice, triple sec, lime juice with shaved coconut flakes; Strawberry Fields - Absolut Orient Apple, Lime juice, Strawberries and simple syrup; and Blueberry Mint Lemonade - Veev Acai Berry, lemon juice, simple syrup blueberries, mint and lemon wedges. New cocktails will be added weekly.

Every Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. guests will be able to enjoy a luscious Veuve Cliquot Happy Hour at the restaurant’s bar. Patrons may choose champagne by the glass for $11, or by the bottle for $55.

There, you can kick back and relish on a selection of mezes (tapas) , priced at only $7 every weekday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Small Plates include Calamari- crispy, chili, lemon, herb oil; the traditional Greek Spanakopitas - spinach, leeks, fennel, feta, dill and phylo; Crisp Smelts - spicy aioli; Zucchini Chips - tzatziki; Keftedes - lamb meat balls, spicy yogurt and tomato; and Zucchini Fritters - feta, dill and mint.

The ambiance at Thasos Greek Taverna is the epitome of casual elegance. The restaurant was recently chosen by New Times as one of the Best Ten Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale, and by City & Shore as the Best New Restaurant 2013.
