‘Diners, Drive-ins and Dives’ uncovers 'Layers of Flavors' on Food Network

On last night's episode of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” Guy Fieri took the red Camaro to find two new joints to make fans mouths water with their wonderful creations.

In this episode titled "Layers of Flavors," he visited two places in; Nags Head, N.C. and Toronto, Canada, for this episode of Triple D.

In Nags Head, on the Outer Banks, Guy found a place called "Tortugas' Lie" where the owners, Bob Sanders and Richard Welch opened the joint in 1989 to present meats and seafood with a Caribbean twist. As Guy got the 411 on the spicy pork chops covered in pepper jelly, he loved what he tasted. These two guys were surf bums that found their place in life. They made jerk chicken with tons of spices that Guy said was off the hook.

In Toronto, Guy visited a section called Roncesvalles and visited "The Ace," an old-style diner owned by Greg Boggs and Maggie Ruhl. The roast pork belly was something that Guy was just craving. With a side of German style hot potato salad and celery and radish salad, Guy loved this roasted and then deep fried hunk of bacon. The mac & cheese burger was a hit, as all ingredients were made separately and married into layers of awesome deliciousness. Guy had a face full of juiciness and loved every minute of it. Next was the Christmas Burger, with stuffing in the middle and topped with cranberry & Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon compote. With the red and green, it was a true Christmas delight served all year round.
