On last night's episode of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” Guy Fieri took the red Camaro to find two new joints to make fans mouths water with their wonderful creations.
In this episode titled "Unlikely Partners," he visited two places in; Los Angeles, Calif. and Toronto, Canada, for this episode of Triple D.
At Koreatown in Los Angeles, he visited "Beer Belly" with an awesome beer selection and food that is to die for. Owner and his wife, Jimmy & Yume Han who concentrated on just the beer until they were blessed by Philly's transplant Chef Wes Lieberher, who puts his own spin on food. Probably most loved are his "Death By Duck;" a bucket of fries cooked in duck fat and topped with shredded duck and duck cracklings. He showed Guy how he uses the entire duck to make these fries with a raspberry-mustard dipping sauce. Another duck creation is the Duck French Dip, a sage-roasted duck sandwich with provolone, duck skin and the dip is duck au jus. Next he made "Volcano Chipotle" chicken wings. The sauce was made with a myriad of spices and even the blue cheese dressing was made to order. The wings are delicious with a fiery sauce that gives a pop of heat that lasts long after the wings are gone.
Next stop was an all-night diner in Toronto called "Lakeview Restaurant." This place offers a new twist on French toast called Freedom Toast with brie, Havarti and Canadian bacon, maple syrup and a side of fries and fruit. The place is all old-fashioned and classic, just like the recipe for corn flake club. A chicken sandwich with corn flake crust, lettuce & tomatoes, bacon and spicy mayo. Next was their famous apple-pie milkshake. They make a real apple pie from scratch by owner Alex Sengupta. Unlike any milkshake Guy ever had, with chucks of apple and crust and topped with a nice piece of the crust is another unlikely partner that Guy found on his road trip.
So if you cannot hop in the red Camaro with Guy, tune in, and maybe he will be coming to a place near you on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”
