Join Atlanta restaurants in stepping up to the plate to help during Dine Out for Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign in September. With more than 7,500 restaurants participating from coast to coast, they aim to raise $10 million for No Kid Hungry and its work connecting kids at risk of hunger with nutritious food and teaching their families how to cook healthy and affordable meals.
We don't always recognize how lucky we are to be surrounded by food with so many stores, markets, cooking shows, and places to dine out. According to Share Our Strength, one in five American children is hungry, which can keep them from reaching their full potential. Their research also shows children who don't have enough to eat suffer in school, get sick more often, and may not graduate high school.
The average person will eat 90 meals in September, so please eat them at the local participating restaurants and take advantage of their special promotions. Diners can choose from fast food to pizza, to casual and even upscale cuisine. Here are just some of the deals at participating Atlanta-area restaurants.
At Aqua blue in Roswell and all Atlanta-area locations of Marlow's Tavern, every person who makes a donation of any amount to Share Our Strength receives a $5 coupon to use at the restaurant during an upcoming visit between October 1 and December 31.
All three Ray's Restaurant locations, Ray's in the City, Ray's at Killer Creek and Ray's on the River, will donate $2 for each three-course meal sold during September. The $37-per-person dedicated menu includes roasted beet and Georgia goat cheese salad with local greens and walnut vinaigrette; pan-seared swordfish with bourbon-whipped sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts and bacon jam; and pumpkin crème brûlée with cranberry compote and white chocolate.
At Ted's Montana Grill locations, each guest donating $5 or more to the campaign will receive a $5 thank-you certificate to use on a future visit. Saddle up to their gluten-free menu and enjoy a tasty meal.
All Tin Drum Asia café locations are sending 0.5 percent of their total café sales for the month to the cause. Their gluten-free menu won't let wheat get you down with choices of Thai basil rolls, egg drop soup, and sweet 'n' sour stir fry.
Put your money to good use by supporting a campaign that aims to put an end to childhood hunger in America.
