Dine out event to end diabetes expands

CityFeast, an eight-year-old fundraising event to help conquer diabetes, expands to Boston's Seaport District and the South End this year when Dining Out to Conquer Diabetes! branches out from its original North End base.

Created by Carla Gomes from the North End, the event is her expression of dedication and appreciation for Joslin Diabetes Clinic for diagnosing her son David's Type 1 diabetes on his first birthday, and giving him care for more than 18 years.

This year, 12 top Boston restaurants, Antico Forno, Aura, The Gallows, Lucca, Lucia, Pulcinella Mozzarella Bar, Taranta, Temazcal, Terramia Ristorante, Tremont 647, Tresca, and Strega Waterfront, will participate on Sunday, January 27 at 6 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $150 apiece with $100 tax deductible. Reservations are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

The event includes a five course dinner with wine pairings (or tequila pairings at Temazcal) at the choice participating restaurant and proceeds benefit Joslin's High Hopes Fund, which provides support for research, clinical care and education for diabetics and their families.
