Former Real Housewife of New Jersey, Dina Manzo, will appear on Oprah: Where Are They Now on OWN on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. to discuss why she left the popular reality series.
Although Dina left halfway through Season 2, clips for tonight's episode reveal that Dina made the decision to leave the series after the infamous "table flip" that aired during the Season 1 finale. Dina shares that she was mortified and horrified to have her daughter witness the behavior. She was also astonished that after the screaming and yelling and Teresa flipping the table, they all were drinking at the bar together and laughing. She shares that she kissed her daughter, Lexi, on the head and told her not to be like any of them. This experience is purportedly the catalyst for her leaving the show.
Dina also shares that after she left the show, she extricated herself from all of the cast members, including sister, Caroline Manzo, and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Laurita. Ironically, it is Teresa Giudice, the table flipper herself, who Dina maintains a close friendship. She claims on the show that Teresa came to her home and they spoke for hours which led to the continuation of their friendship.
Whether Dina blames the show on her feud with sister, Caroline, (it is well known that Caroline and Dina are not currently speaking and have not been speaking for years) it is unknown. However, considering it is not just Caroline, but a total of 5 of her brothers and sisters that Dina is not speaking to, one must assume that the rift goes deeper than appearing on a tumultuous reality show. It is not revealed in the clips revealed by OWN, but fans are eager to hear whether Dina will shed some light on her side as to why the feud exists. Caroline has been notoriously tight lipped as to why she and her sister are not speaking and will only offer assurance that Teresa Giudice is not the cause.
