While at the NBCUniversal upfronts last Thursday, Dina Manzo and Melissa Gorga talked about what viewers can expect on season six of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." In an interview with OK! Magazine, posted on Tuesday, May 20, Dina and Melissa pretty much confirmed that the returning housewives take a bit of a back seat to the new housewives.
When asked what they thought of the new housewives, Teresa Aprea, Nicole Mauriello and Amber Marchese, both Dina and Melissa had good things to say. However, for anyone who assumes that the new housewives were on their best behavior in front of Dina, Melissa and Teresa Giudice, at least initially, Dina quickly dispelled that notion.
Dina said that all three women were very excited to be a part of the show and joked that they came in "swinging from the chandeliers." She stressed that they "bring it" this new season. Melissa agreed, saying that the new women were ready to go from the outset. Despite the new housewives bringing the heat and the drama, Melissa seems to have loved it, adding that it was fun for her to film season six.
Viewers will also see Dina and Melissa becoming closer in the new season. Melissa explained that while she knew Dina for years, being on the show together for the first time gave them the opportunity to really hang out. While Melissa didn't elaborate, it's likely that she knew Dina from her sister-in-law Teresa, who as the last remaining original housewife was on the show when Dina was on for the first two seasons.
Dina Manzo isn't the only housewife with whom Melissa Gorga bonded with while filming season six of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." While previous seasons focused heavily on Melissa's strained relationship with sister-in-law Teresa Giudice, that won't happen for the latest season. Melissa has previously said that she and Teresa "came a long way" while filming the new season and confirmed that she loves her.
