Dina Eastwood, 48, has filed for divorce to end her 17-year marriage to Clint Eastwood, 83, according to ABC News on Thursday. The wife of the famed actor and motion picture director filed the legal papers to end the marriage on Monday of this week in Monterey County Superior Court in Carmel, California.
Initially, Mrs. Eastwood withdrew papers for a legal separation two weeks ago on Oct. 7. In those papers, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation. At that time, she also requested physical custody of Morgan, the couple’s 16-year-old daughter as well as joint legal custody of her.
Eastwood’s wife has also requested spousal support, yet her filing documents state that she and the actor have a prenuptial agreement. Property rights are still to be decided.
The wife is the former Dina Ruiz, who was a television news anchor when she met Eastwood in 1993. She was given an assignment to interview the Hollywood actor. They eventually got married on March 31, 1996.
Last year, Mrs. Eastwood starred in a reality-TV program called “Mrs. Eastwood & Company. The show reportedly put a terrific strain on their marriage as Clint Eastwood is notoriously private.
