The digital version, available in the U.S. for $10 on PC, Macintosh, iPods and iPads platforms, has the entire print magazine available to read, plus added audio samples and iTunes links for many of the tunes. Notably, though, those iTunes links doesn't extend to the Beatles' songs, which still aren't themselves on iTunes yet.

However, solo Beatles songs in the list are either linked to iTunes, have audio links or both, depending on the song. For example, John Lennon's "Imagine" (# 3) is linked to iTunes but there's no audio excerpt, while "Maybe I'm Amazed" (# 347) has both.

You have several options to read through the e-book has several options. There are page turners at the top and a guide rule on the bottom that allows you to slide to any page. A search function allows you to call up various bands' songs or mentions of them. You can also print excerpts.

One nice aspect of the digital version is that the pictures are seamless and aren't obstructed by a binding, as the print version would be.
