June 29, 2011 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will showcase a new digital restoration of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, in celebration of the film’s 50th anniversary, on Friday, July 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Directed by Blake Edwards, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, with Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, set the stage for the glamour of the 1960s and a new air of femininity. The film earned Hepburn a Best Actress nomination, as well as an Academy Award for Best Song (“Moon River”) for composer Henry Mancini and lyricist Johnny Mercer.
Tickets to the July 29th event will be $5 for general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid ID and may be purchased online here on and after July 1.
