Doctor prescribed diet pill Meridia is a quick fix appetite suppressant that may not be all that it is cut out to be.
Most often, appetite cravings are more emotionally driven and stress driven rather than physically driven. Therefore, I am not a fan of a chemical suppressant that does not address the stress/ anxiety part which is usually the root.
An effective weight loss program must have a comprehensive multi-pronged approach and is not as simple as popping a pill.
Some of the side effects of Meridia are, according to WebMD, are dry mouth, increased appetite, nausea, strange taste in the mouth, upset stomach, dizziness, constipation, trouble sleeping, drowsiness, menstrual cramps and pain, headache, flushing, joint or muscle pain. It is also possible to cause a very serious condition called serotonin syndrome.
