Diesel sent their swimwear collection down the Miami Fashion Week Swim runway earlier today and featured a unique take on the beach bag. Typically beach bags or totes are made from natural fabrics such as straw or twill and may be made from bright colors or neutral natural shades. Instead of the classic beach tote, Diesel created a hefty double handle satchel with detachable shoulder strap that could easily be worn on the street.
Diesel’s swimwear line was bright, colorful and sophisticated with light-hearted mixes of texture and flirty silhouettes which included one shoulder looks. Paired with the bright colors on the runway were fall colored, military grade neutral tote bags which created a stark contrast between the apparel and accessories.
Diesel’s swimwear beach totes from Miami Fashion Week featured two top handles, zipper closure, a detachable shoulder strap and slightly north/south silhouette. The bags were roomy enough for carrying a beach towel, extra set of clothing, iPad, sunblock and magazine. Diesel’s beach bags looked as though they should be carried on the street with casual attire or for a weekend getaway as opposed to a pool or beach location. It should be interesting to see if the non-beach tote, beach bag makes it to the shoreline or if it finds its’ way onto city streets instead.
