Did you become a teacher to test and for tenure tumult?

I didn't!

I became a teacher to prepare students for the next grades and for life.

The most professional, caring colleague I ever worked with would attend her student’s special activities and athletic events, becoming a part of their extended families.

A long time principal used to say, “Bring them up to grade level and introduce them to the current grades skills.”

We were really helping the the students in those days. We also taught them practical things such as how to introduce two people and how to write checks and how to pose open-ended questions.

Where has all the education, long time passing?

Where has all the learning gone, long time ago?

They’ve gone to testing everyone.

When will they ever return?

When will they learn?

When the world recognizes that it is the teachers who should be in charge; that the teachers know best; and that the reformers, politicians, billionaires, and everyone not in the classroom know diddly about education.
