After being absent from Twitter for an unknown reason, Mike Dickinson, the Virginia Democrat who wants the House seat currently held by Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., issued a vile tweet Thursday attacking former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, conservative columnist Michelle Malkin and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Raw Story reported Friday.

"Picking between @GOPLeader Eric cantor & tea @DaveBratVA7th is like a (expletive deleted), Marry, Kill between @michellemalkin @ehasselbeck & @SarahPalinUSA," he tweeted. A few minutes earlier, he issued a tweet saying "trash" like Malkin are "'women' in name only."

The message sparked anger from a number of people who took offense at Dickinson's misogynistic and somewhat threatening message.

Raw Story explained the tweet references a game young people play on Twitter where they must declare whether they would have sex, marry or kill the people being mentioned. A post at Urban Dictionary says the game "is not intended for literal thoughts," but some took Dickinson's message as an implied threat.

"Did you just threaten to kill Sarah Palin?" one person asked. Some called Dickinson "vile" while others said his messages are a prime example of liberal "tolerance."

Dickinson first got noticed when he claimed Fox News lied and suggested Soviet-style monitoring and regulation of the network. He moved from that to a non-stop attack on the Tea Party, the NRA and everyone to the right of Josef Stalin. More recently, he declared "war" on the Tea Party and suggested his followers harass members of the Tea Party by calling the police.

He has appeared twice on Fox News, and was soundly embarrassed on both occasions. During his latest appearance with Greta van Susteren, he admitted lying about his ties to local adult businesses.

Dickinson's Twitter account has been down three times for unknown reasons. However, he maintains his account has never been closed by the social media site.

"Fun fact: never been kicked off twitter (sic)," he wrote.

Dickinson failed to file as a Democrat in Virginia's 7th Congressional District and is currently not on the ballot. Nevertheless, he claims he will still be on the ballot as a liberal Democrat.
