The question "Did Teena Marie die?" sent Twitter on fire as rumors of R&B singer Teena Marie's death buzzed through re-tweets and status posts. Unfortunately, the "Lovergirl" songstress, who'd been having minor health problems lately, wasn't a part of an internet death hoax but was confirmed dead by her manager late Sunday.
"MARIE WAS FOUND DEAD BY HER DAUGHTER..."
"Marie was found dead by her daughter after apparently dying in her sleep," CNN.com quoted Teena's manager Mike Gardner as saying.

TWITTER HOAX DEBUNKED: "TEENA MARIE HAS PASSED AWAY," SAYS RONALD ISLEY
Found dead by her daughter, Alia Rose, in her home, Teena Marie's death was confirmed just hours after the Twitterverse began begging the question. R&B Legend Ronald Isley assisted in confirming the news was more than just an internet rumor when he posted the update the Twitter fans saying, "Sorry guys, yes, Teena Marie has passed away".
TEENA'S LAST TWEET: "MAY GOD'S LIGHT ALWAYS SHINE ON YOU"
Ironically enough, Teena Marie updated her Twitter just hours before passing away. The R&B leading lady sent a holiday message to friends and family writing, "May Gods Light always shine on you and your family! May you have the most joyous Holliday season ever!"
