Did Russell Brand lead a walkout at Golden Bridge Yoga?

On Jan. 29, BuzzFeed reported that celebrity yogi Russell Brand staged a walkout at Golden Bridge Yoga in Los Angeles on behalf of his beloved kundalini yoga teacher, Tej Kaur Khalsa.

Russell Brand rolled up his mat and started a yoga revolution last week because they wouldn't let his favorite teacher break her contract with the studio he attends. Demi Moore also goes to this studio and participated in the walk out.

Could this be true? Examiner.com contacted Golden Bridge to confirm the radical action, but was told they weren’t doing interviews at this time.

The receptionist at the front desk, however, when asked if it was true that Russell Brand had staged a walkout on Tej's behalf, said, “I hadn’t heard about that. She’s just kind of branching out and teaching classes at different places. There’s no animosity or anything. She’s still welcome here. We love Tej.”

Radar Online, on the other hand, also reported the walkout, claiming to have spoken with an eyewitness who quoted Brand.

Golden Bridge is not treating my friend in a respectful manner. After years of dutiful service, they refuse to let her out of her contract. If you’d like to continue to study with her, follow me.

On his twitter account, Brand wrote, “Guerrilla yoga! We’re renegades- we’re taking it to the streets! Along with the message, he posted a photo of what appears to be Brand inside a kundalini yoga classroom.

On Jan. 23, 2013, Tej founded a Facebook page, Nine Treasures Yoga, where she posts her teaching schedule. Already she has 654 followers. More than likely Brand is one of them.
