Singer Rihanna has been clear about her love and respect for her idol, Whitney Houston. However, recent reports from Splash news and RadarOnline.com claim that she respects her so much that she turned down a leading role offered to her by filmmaker Tyler Perry. Not only did she turn the role down but she also said that her decision was because Whitney Houston once told her that Perry's movies were for African-American "has beens".
According to RadarOnline.com, Tyler Perry has been pursuing Rihanna and she's been avoiding him. The "Battleship" Actress says she wants to do an action packed science fiction like the movie she starred in : "Battleship". That's quite interesting because the movie received 5.9 out of 10 rating on Imbd and Tyler Perry's movies tend to soar at the box office. In addition, Rihanna didn't appear to have much of an acting bone in her body, nor did she seem to even have a pulse in that movie either.
Whitney Houston and Tyler Perry had a friendship that was very close and whether she told Rihanna that his movies were for African-American "has beens" or not if true, she should have left that in confidence where Whitney most likely would have wanted it to remain.
Did Rihanna throw her idol under the bus? or is this another tabloid headline gone wrong?
