Paul Jolley was eliminated from “American Idol” on March 21. The pop-country wannabe told Zap 2 It that he “knew” he was going home. But the timing is coincidental considering news about his personal life that was leaked this week.
On March 21, Wetpaint posted the news that Paul Jolley is gay, and even put a link to his boyfriend’s Pinterest page. Brock Hartline’s Pinterest page includes several photos of Jolley. The news that the handsome singer is gay may have hurt his voting chances with female viewers. On past “American Idol” seasons, contestants Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert waited until after the season ended to come out and admit they were gay.
Of course, Jolley’s sexuality isn’t a huge shocker to some viewers of the show. Two weeks ago, judge Nicki Minaj coyly asked him, “Paul, are you... jolley?” He ginned and replied, “Yes, I am … I'm ‘jolley’ all the time.”
Thursday night was bittersweet for the Palmersville, Tenn. native, who was told earlier in the night that March 16 was deemed Paul Jolley Day in his hometown.
In the Philadelphia area, “American Idol” airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays on FOX 29
