Tomorrow is the long-awaited cast reveal for Season 16 of “Dancing With the Stars.” Many fans of the show are sad that Maksim Chmerkovskiy reportedly quit and is not coming back. But did he quit or was he fired? According to Celebrity News and Style on Feb. 25, Maks wasn’t asked back.
There were questions about the handsome dance pro’s future with DWTS when he started talking about not renewing his contract when it expired at the end of 2013. Maks has said he wants to explore other show business career opportunities. Have the producers of “Dancing With the Stars” given him that chance?
Maks Chmerkovskiy has never been one to keep his feelings to himself. He has openly argued with head judge Len Goodman on many occasions. There is also some type of a feud or bad feelings simmering just under the surface between Maks and fellow dance pro Derek Hough.
However it happened, it looks like Maks will not be back and he doesn’t seem too upset about it. On Friday, he tweeted: “BAM! Someone landed in LA LA LAND! So many peeps to catch up with! So much exciting stuff coming up! #OutWithTheOld.”
There’s been no comment from Maks directly or anyone representing him, except that he will not be back for Season 16.
The full cast reveal is tomorrow, Feb. 26, at 7 a.m. eastern time on “Good Morning America.” Rumor has it that some of the cast announced tomorrow will be Sean Lowe, Aly Raisman, Wynonna Judd and Kellie Pickler. ABC leaked one confirmed contestant during the Oscars last night, Jacoby Jones of the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens.
Season 16 of “Dancing With the Stars” steps off on Monday, March 18, at 8 p.m. eastern time on ABC. Don’t miss it!
