Did hotel room antics rescue Justin Bieber's terrible 19th birthday?

Justin Bieber turned 19 on Friday. It was, by his own admission, his worst birthday ever, and it wasn't just because Selena Gomez wasn't there (in fact, that seems to be a non-issue anyway).

Bieber was in London to celebrate his 19th birthday, along with his rumored new British girlfriend, 17-year-old Ella-Paige Roberts Clarke (for those wondering, the age of consent in the U.K. is 16), and a bunch of his friends. He was happy on Friday, tweeting messages such as:

Gonna be fun tonight. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes. 19!

However, his opinion of the evening wasn't so good, afterwards. He tweeted:

Worst birthday

What went wrong? Justin Bieber had planned a circus-themed birthday bash at London's Cirque du Soir. Guests included the aforementioned Roberts Clarke. The festivities were broken up quickly, though.

The reasons differ, depending on the source. According to Us Weekly, Bieber's entire party left the birthday bash after a confrontation between Bieber's entourage and club security. Based on that report, the source of the problem was 14-year-old guest Jaden Smith (Will Smith's son), who was too young for entry into the club.

However, there's another possible explanation, and that one comes from the star's friend, Ryan Butler. He tweeted:

This is unbelievable. Can't even have fun on his birthday. Paparazzi are absolute d*ckheads here.

Whatever the cause, Bieber returned to his hotel.

Although he said it was his worst birthday ever, it may not have been so bad. After all, he's had grand times in hotel rooms before.
