Shain Gandee is one of the stars of the new MTV reality show “Buckwild” and describes himself as a “trash collector.” However, Reality Tea reported on Jan. 10 that the often inebriated reality personality lost his job in sanitation before “Buckwild” began filming in the spring 2012.
According to the Charleston Daily Mail Shain, who enjoys the nickname “Gandee Candy," was dismissed from his garbage collecting job in November 2011 for “violating the personnel policy.”
Gerald Burgy, the South Charleston director of public works, would not elaborate on the nature of Gandee’s “personnel policy violation," but did say, “he [Shain] was a hardworking kid that came to work every day. He was a fun-loving kid.”
South Charleston Mayor Frank Mullens confirmed that Gandee was let go for "violating the personnel policy." He said Shain Gandee's participation in the reality show "Buckwild" had nothing to do with his dismissal
Former boss Burgy added, “I started to watch the show [‘Buckwild’], but I didn’t find it very interesting. I didn’t think it was very funny either.
Love it or hate it, ‘Buckwild’ had 2.49 million viewers the first week it aired. 'Buckwild’ airs Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET on MTV.
