Yesterday, Beyonce appeared at the Super Bowl press conference in order to announce that she didn't completely lip-sync her performance of the National Anthem at President Obama's second inauguration.
"I am a perfectionist," she explained when asked about the inaugural performance. She said that she chose to use 'a backing track' due to a lack of sound check and the high stakes surrounding the event. "I'm very proud of my performance," she added.
However, students in an advanced class on music production at the University of Las Vegas completely disagree. Most say that that when analyzing the audio channels, there isn't a hint of Beyonce singing live.
"She is completely lying to the public," says Professor John O'Malley. "If she did sing live, then there is the possibility she was very quiet. The audio feed definitely didn't pick it up," he continues. Most of the other students agree. They also previously commented on how auto-tuned the performance was.
"The media constantly defends Beyonce. Perhaps they are afraid of being called 'racist' if they criticize her. However, she needs to be called out on her wrongdoings," says senior John Silva. It will be interesting to see how well received Beyonce's performance is on Sunday.
