Dick Siegel and the Brandos are playing a Gopherwood Concert in Cadillac! Not only are they playing in Cadillac, they are playing a house concert in Cadillac! What is a house concert you might ask yourself? A house concert is exactly what it sounds like, a musical presentation held in the intimate environment of someone’s home –this time the home of Paul and Nancy Brown on Sunday, March 21st. “Attending a house concert is like being to a show in your own living room,” reports Paul Brown, the promotions director for Gopherwood Concerts as well as the host for this house concert. “It’s a nice, small setting with lots of interaction with the performers.” What better way to enjoy live music than to be sitting around your living room? The Brown’s living room is located at 4320 E. 46 Road near Cadillac and everyone is welcome to attend. Tickets will cost $10 in advance for adults ($12 at the door), $5 for students ($6 at the door), and children under 12 are free as long as they are with their responsible adult. You can call for tickets at 231-775-1813 or buy them at Toy Town in downtown Cadillac.
Dick Siegel is a Detroit Music Hall of Fame member who has been named one of the most important and influential artists in the history of Detroit by WDET. This places him alongside such musical giants as John Lee Hooker, Stevie Wonder, and Aretha Franklin. His eclectic style and unique lyrics have won him multiple Detroit Music Awards as well as other accolades such as the coveted Kerrville Music Festival’s New Folk Award. It is impossible to describe the musical diversity that is Dick Siegel in one small article. You simply must experience Dick Siegel’s show to truly understand and a house concert is the perfect setting in which to do that.
This legend of eclectic songwriting and vocal eccentricity will accompany himself on guitar and be pushed to a higher plain of musical wonderment by Dave Roof on upright bass and “guitar guru” Brian Delaney. The show begins at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday the 21st of March at 4320 E. 46 Road, Cadillac, Michigan. Concert goers are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverage to the show. They can even enjoy those snacks and beverages, as long as they do so responsibly. For directions or additional information contact Paul Brown at 231-775-2813 or go to the Gopherwood website at www.gopherwoodconcerts.org.
