Timex has launched the "I Am a Runner" campaign with Dick Hoyt, who will run his 31st Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15 with his son Rick Hoyt, who has cerebral palsy. The "I Am a Runner" campaign aims to recognize and celebrate the ability of all runners.
Dick Hoyt, who serves as an ambassador with Timex, has participated in more than 1,000 endurance events with his son. Known as Team Hoyt, Hoyt is an inspiration to runners across the country.
"I never thought I would run a Boston Marathon, it's such an honor and privilege," said Hoyt. "I love that we're able to help people all over the world."
Through the "I Am a Runner" campaign, Timex aims to unite runners through their passion for the sport. As part of the campaign, runners are invited to share their stories via the company's Facebook app.
Individuals who share their stories via the hashtag #IMARUNNER will be eligible for opportunities to win Timex products and to be featured by Timex on its social media platforms.
In a press release, Timex Brand Manager Sam Martin stated: "'I Am A Runner' campaign represents our biggest commitment to honoring those men and women whose running experiences have been enhanced by one of our timing devices and whose inspirational stories help all of us push our way to the finish line, whatever that finish line might be."
The "I Am a Runner" campaign will run through the summer and culminate at the ING New York City Marathon in November.
