Dianna Argon will be noticeably absent from the “Glee” tribute show for Cory Monteith on Thursday. According to a Radar Online report on Oct. 7, the actress was not asked to be a part of the special because cast members as well as the co-creator of the show simply do not like her.
Dianna’s contractual status apparently had nothing to do with the decision. In fact, a show insider says other cast members came back for the tribute episode even though they were not longer contracted for the show.
“It’s shocking, because even though she’s not contracted for this season, many other actors returned to pay tribute to Cory…even ones with less of a story connection to Finn than Diana had,” a source on the show tells the website.
“Remember, she played his GIRLFRIEND on the series, and was a major part of his storyline.”
The source reveals Monteith’s girlfriend, actress Lea Michele, and co-creator Ryan Murphy, “intensely dislike Dianna and have both worked to marginalize her as much as possible.”
They never saw Dianna as a “team player” and they did not want to her “sharing in the glory” for the special, said the insider.
Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13 after consuming a lethal combination of alcohol and heroin.
