Diane Kruger almost always looks fashion flawless and fabulous. For the Berlinale International Film Festival on February 10, 2014 Diane took to the red carpet for 'The Better Angels' photocall according to RCFA wearing a black and white short dress design by Giambattista Valli teamed with an odd choice of Chanel footwear. This was not one of her better fashion moments.
Diane's look was from the Pre-Fall 2014 Giambattista Valli collection. The cocktail-style dress design was fitted over-the-knee and featured a highly detailed sequin vine motif on the top half of the tank-style top. The bottom skirt had a delicate flare. If Diane had selected some long earrings and a delicate sandal to accent her dress that would have been great. Instead she went with no jewelry and heavy black Chanel footwear with chains and ankle socks. What was she thinking? Contrasting elements are fine but this isn't even a real contrast. This is just a horrible matching of name dropping designer labels.
So perhaps you though that her makeup dazzled and carried the outfit instead. We were hoping that would be the case. Diane instead selected a pale and washed out makeup base and went with soft eyes and lips. There was no strength added to her makeup selection. A smokey eye or a great red lip would have been good choices.
So all we have left here is acting ability. Diane's movie 'The Better Angels' was shown at the event. The film is based on Abraham Lincoln's early childhood. Let's just hope Diane shines on the screen.
This was a two thumbs down for Diane Kruger and her fashion for this event.
