Diamond dreidel from South African founded Mervis Diamonds
Mervis Diamond Importers is claiming to have created the world's very first diamond dreidel. The Diamond Dreidel is priced at $1800 and is platinum micro-pave and is available in very limited quantities and must be ordered by 12/9 for Hannukah.
The dreidel has .96 carats of diamonds set in platinum that are graded G/H color and VS2/SI1 in clarity.
Would only Jews be interested in a diamond dreidel? Mervis is betting diamond trinket collectors will take a special interest.
The diamonds are certified to be conflict free diamonds, as stated on the website.
The issue of conflict diamonds is extremely important to us. Our founder, Morris Mervis, started our diamond business in South Africa, on the continent most associated with diamonds; a generation later, Mervis family members continue to live and run our operations in Johannesburg. We are proud of our African heritage and are concerned about the welfare of all miners. It’s unconscionable for any employee of Mervis Diamond Importers to take any other position on this matter.
The overall size of the diamond dreidel is unstated, but this is probably an insignificant detail to most purchasers.
