Blizzard Entertainment made a couple of announcements during an earnings call on Thursday and one of those is a launch window for the highly anticipated Diablo III.
Diablo III is currently targeted for a second quarter launch on the PC. The game is currently in beta testing and recently underwent a significant update. More details for the launch will be announced in the coming weeks.
Other notable news from the Blizzard portionof the call includes a stand-alone release of Blizzard DOTA. This was previously announced as an expansion for StarCraft II but now it will be released separately as a free-to-play title.
World of WarCraft: Mists of Pandaria will receive new information oin March and Blizzard plans on getting more active with esports in 2012 for StarCraft II. There's also confirmation of an unannounced MMO on the way which should be good timing as World of WarCraft lost 100,000 subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2011.
