Activision and Blizzard Entertainment announced Wednesday that "Diablo III" was making the jump from the PC to the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3. They followed up that announcement with new screenshots that show some of the user interface changes that are being made for the console version of the action role-playing game.
The screens released on the Battle.net blog indicate that the item hotbar will be tied to the face buttons on the new DualShock 4 controller along with the bumper and trigger buttons. Meanwhile, inventory management will use a radial style user-interface that is more conducive to gamepad use.
In addition to the Paragon leveling system, customizable Monster Power, Brawling and epic Legendary items that are now part of "Diablo III" on the PC, the PS4 and PS3 versions of the title will feature a new user-interface and control scheme plus a "dynamic camera perspective."
Blizzard also confirmed that gamers will not only be able to play four-player co-op online but also four-player local multiplayer in "Diablo III".
As announced yesterday, "Diablo III" will be at PAX East in March giving gamers their first chance to go hands on with all the changes being made for the console version.
There's been no word yet on if the console port of "Diablo III" will be exclusive to Playstation platforms or if it will come to the Xbox 360 and next Xbox (aka Xbox 720) as well.
