Diabetes supplies arrive in Haiti

A life-saving shipment of diabetes medicines and supplies were shipped from the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver, Colorado to help many of the Haitans with diabetes.  The shipment arrived safely in Port au Prince, Haiti on February 15, 2010.   (CDFCares)

More than 300,000 people in Haiti are diabetics.  Therefore, there is a desparate need for insulin, syringes, test strips and meters for individuals with type 1 diabetes and for the oral medication Metformin for individuals with type 2 diabetes. (CDF Cares)  Many diabetics cannot survive without their daily medicines and supplies.
