No trip to Pilsen would be complete without a stop; early or late, to Dia De Los Tamales. A Pilsen staple since 2013, this local eatery has put tamales on the map. Tamales are hand made daily with the freshest of ingredients. Even the tortilla chips are homemade every day. The chef makes his own hot sauces! The daily tamale menu includes: Cuban slow roasted pork, buffalo chicken, roasted pepper & goat cheese, spicy black bean & corn, Chicago beef, and more. On Cinco de Mayo, Dia de Los Tamales will be open from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Celebrating it's one year anniversary, the party continues on May 9, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. when everyone is invited to the Dia De Los Tamales 1st Anniversary Bash. New menu items will be introduced and there will be live music. Come meet owners Sam & Jeni Wahl and Chef Keith Carlson.
A true story of Chicago entrepreneur success, the Wahl's have involved the community from the beginning; from the Kickstarter campaign to launch their business to becoming an integral part of the Pilsen family. Be sure to stop by Dia De Los Tamales and celebrate what Chicago and Chicagoans are all about.
