The national media reported today that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inadvertently released online a highly-classified document that specifically delineates some of the most sensitive security procedures to be followed by TSA supervisors screening airline passengers and government employees, negligence calling for an investigation according to the Whistleblowing Airline Employees Association.
"The entire membership of the ‘Whistleblowing Airline Employees Association’ shares collective outrage with our special interests, the millions who travel by commercial air and those dedicated safety professionals who serve them daily, the many airline aircrew and employees, the federal air marshal service, FAA employees, and others," stated Captain Dan Hanley late Tuesday evening.
"This egregious act of negligence by those in the upper-echelons of the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration must be held accountable for the most blatant breach of security since 9/11."
"Given President Obama’s campaign rhetoric concerning a greater openness of government, and in light of the enormity of this breach of public trust concerning aviation security, it is hoped that Congress will launch an investigation into this matter immediately."
In light of his campaign promise regarding enhanced protection for federal whistleblowers, coupled with the airline captains, federal air marshals and other commercial aviation safety and security personnel terminated the past several years for attempting to expose frailties in the present security systems, it is hoped that these individual cases will be publicly reviewed since these aviation safety and security professionals were attempting to protect these same passengers by their revelations.
The Whistleblowing Airline Employees Association is a national grassroots coalition of airline employees from all U.S. airlines whose safety and security goals are commensurate with those of the Department of Transportation, Department of Homeland Security, and the Federal Aviation Administration mission statements as prescribed on their websites.
In support of its mission, the Whistleblowing Airline Employees Association has affiliated with numerous individuals and U.S. and international safety, security, and whistleblowing organizations including: Tom Devine – Legal Director, Government Accountability Project, Gabe Bruno – Representative, FAA Whistleblowers Alliance, Federal Air Marshals/TSA Employee Whistleblowers,

I'm glad you are there to help bring some justice. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words, Captain Ross!
Highly classified? Above Top Secret? No. Above Secret? No. Above Confidential? No? SSI was a made up document classification for DHS since most of the people using this document wouldn't qualify for a real security clearance and would be denied access to the document they need to do their job.
I've read the document and much of what is in the document is available elsewhere on the internet. Want to know how they calibrate the x-ray machine? There's a DOJ document that specifies just how to do that for prisons. Want to know how sensitive the machine is? Documents from x-ray machine vendors.
TSA hid behind the SSI classification as a means of denying the American people the right to know what is expected from them when going through an airport checkpoint. That cat is out of the bag.
Thanks Captain Dan Hanley for your relentless work and fight for truth and justice in keeping the skies safe for millions of people and thank to Deborah Dupre for her article and future articles such as this one!

It's very important that people not stop questioning DHS-TSA negligence, etc...
I didn't get through all of their top secret document. If you did, was there a section on how TSA personnel are to pull terminally ill cancer patients out of their wheelchairs and drop them on the floor of the airport? And how not to apologize? That's what they did in Hawaii to a friend of mine, on her way to the hospital for the last time. I just want to be certain the TSA personnel were "just following orders" to the absolute letter of their prescribed duties and really, really protecting national security in so doing. Otherwise, I'm afraid they showed themselves to be inept, cruel, and callous bunglers.
It was my understanding that as U.S.Citizens we shouldn't have to defend ourselves from our Government when we report negligence in the area of Homeland Security, as we have always been told to be Good Citizens and protect your neighborhoods from any sightings of wrongdoings, you know, the Neighbohood Watch theory in effect for many years. When things take place in airports, we should react no differently, who we are Employees or travelers. Whistleblowers shold have the same rights as any other citizen. They should not be treated as meddlers by our Government. Press on people. Let's get the bad guys. Within our ranks or outside.
