The DFW Solar Tour is an annual event that allows North Texans the opportunity to visit various solar powered homes throughout the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area and see up close how home solar energy works. The event is free to the public. Over 24 solar powered homes will be on display this Saturday October 5th from the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The DFW Solar Tour is organized by is organized by the North Texas Renewable Energy Group (NTREG) and the American Solar Energy Society (NationalSolarTour.org). 16 cities throughout North Texas are included in this year’s event. Some of the cities include Plano, Rowlett, Grand Prairie, Dallas, Flower Mound, Murphy, Azle, and Duncanville.
This is the 18th annual tour organized by the American Solar Energy Society. At this year’s event, more than 165,000 participants are expected to visit some 5,500 buildings in 3,200 communities across the USA. NTREG and the American Solar Energy Society are non-profit organizations working to promote solar energy awareness.
