The higher seeds all advanced to the quarterfinals in class C boys basketball action.
Seth Brown scored 19 points to lead the Stearns Minutemen to a 60-41 victory over George Stevens on Wednesday evening in a preliminary game played at Stearns high school.
The Minutemen will take on Penquis in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday, February 20th at 11 a.m. The Patriots defeated Stearns twice during the regular season.
The Dexter Tigers jumped out to a 17-2 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 52-38 victory over the Piscataquis community high school (PCHS) Pirates in a prelim game played at Dexter high school.
Dexter will face Lee Academy in a quarterfinal game at 9:30 a.m. on February 20th.
Number eight seed Bucksport defeated Fort Kent 57-49 in a prelim game played at Bucksport high school.
The Bucks will take on top seeded Houlton in a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, February 19th at 3:30 p.m.
