“Dexter” is coming to an end, the Season 8 series finale will debut this coming Sunday. Two possible ending spoilers have already been released, confusing fans as to which one is more likely to happen. Adding to the confusion and speculation, on Tuesday, September 17, more huge spoiler finale details have surfaced from Game FAQS.
First, major spoiler images surfaced online (check them out here if you dare!) and fans went into a riot. The images feature what appears to be Debra wearing a hospital gown on a boat with Dexter. In one picture she is standing up next to him, but in the others she is partially covered in a plastic bag on a table. Fans are keeping their fingers crossed that this is not Debra, and if it is (which it sure does look like it) that she does not die. No other information was released along with these images, so fans did not have much to go on and were left to speculate what led to these events.
Earlier this month, another spoiler ending surfaced for “Dexter.” The spoilers read that the finale will partially take place in a hospital. This is now proven to be true, since Debra was shot by Saxon and on her way to the hospital. Deb will be in a hospital gown for sure, but how will she end up with Dexter on his boat? Well according to the new spoilers, she won’t. Debra will supposedly be dying at the hospital, and Dexter will successfully escape with Hannah and Harrison.
I’ll summarize the second set of spoilers (check them out in full here): Quinn will reveal to Dexter that he has known about him being a serial killer for some time. Due to his love for Deb though, he chose to remain quiet. That and the fact that Quinn believes Dexter is doing right by killing the bad guys. Quinn tells Dexter that he will be taking care of Saxon himself, and goes off to kill him.
That’s right, even though Saxon killed Vogel, threatened his family, and now killed Debra, Dexter still does not feel like killing and all he cares about is leaving with Hannah. That makes no sense in so many ways. First off, Dexter uncharacteristically lost his urge to kill, which sucks for all fans of this SERIAL KILLER series. Also, Quinn knowing about Dexter for some time and keeping quiet just doesn’t make sense, and him killing Saxon himself? When a loved one is killed, the majority of people wish they could kill the murderer of their loved one themselves, so why would Dexter, who ‘used’ to be a serial killer, feel any different? Last, why does Debra have to die? All she did during this whole series was try to be happy and help her brother, who supposedly get away with everything and runs off happily ever after.
Here’s a quick sum-up of the series finale “Remember the Monsters?” released by Game FAQS:
Dexter, Hannah, and Harrison go to the airport presumably to leave for Argentina. Security is too tight though, so Dexter calls in a bomb threat at the airport. After not answering his phone for a while, Dex picks up and learns that Deb is dying at the hospital. Later in the episode, Dexter is seen carrying Debra from a stretcher down to his boat with Deb covered by a sheet. How that happened? Still unknown. So many spoiler snippets! It’s hard to piece them together.
