'Dexter' season 8 spoilers: 'Walking Dead' actor joins cast (Video)

The eighth season of the hit Showtime series "Dexter" won't air until summer, but new actors are being cast with each passing day. Nick Gomez is the latest actor to land a guest starring role on the psychological thriller series. On Friday, Jan. 25, Gomez revealed the casting on his official Twitter account.

Gomez recently had a role as the prisoner Tomas in the popular zombie drama "The Walking Dead"on AMC. Gomez appeared in two episodes of the third season, before being killed off with a machete by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) after putting the group in danger. His other acting credits include the science fiction thriller Looper and Act of Valor.

Gomez joins British actress Charlotte Rampling and Sean Patrick Flanery who have also signed on for the eighth season. Rampling will portray psychiatrist Dr. Evelyn Vogel and is known for her roles in Swimming Pool and Melancholia. Flanery gained popularity playing Connor MacManus in The Boondock Saints and was cast to play ex-cop Jacob Elroy on the show. The eighth and so far final season of "Dexter" will premiere on Showtime at 9 p.m. on June 30, 2013.
