Season seven of the psychological thriller “Dexter” just ended and fans are already speculating and getting the latest scoop on the upcoming season. This is all thanks to TV Line, who on Tuesday, January 8, reported that two important characters have been added to season eight.
The seventh season closed with Debra getting involved in Dexter’s secret life more than she ever imagined or wanted. Deb killed LaGuerta in order to keep Dexter safe. Even if enough evidence is planted to make it look like Estrada and LaGuerta killed each other though (as Dexter had planned it) there will be a lot of loose ends. This is where the two major recurring roles for season 8 come in.
According to TV Line, Dr. Evelyn Vogel, described as, “a formidable and whip smart neuro-psychiatrist in her late 50s who assists the law in profiling criminals.” This doesn’t sound like good news for the Morgan’s.
“The show is also on the hunt for a 40ish actor to play Jacob Elroy,” TV Line says. Elroy is described as, “A handsome and straightforward former cop who now owns his own private eye business.” The source suggests that the character might be hired to hunt down LaGuerta’s real killer.
