Dexter, Orono, PCHS to host class C boys prelim games

The class C boys basketball tournament officially starts this evening for six teams.

For the George Stevens Eagles the tournament really started last Friday evening when they needed a win at Central for their season to continue.

Kelsey Allen scored 33 points, including the the first 17 points for George Stevens as they rolled to a 68-56 victory over Central.

Allen and the Eagles (9-9) will travel to sixth seeded Dexter (11-7) for a prelim game tonight.

The teams did not meet during the regular season.

The Red Devils will travel to Orono for a prelim game starting at 6 p.m. The game can be heard live on 620 AM and zoneradio.com.

Central (7-11) won both regular season match-ups, including 44-41 on January 14th.

Orono earned the home prelim game when they defeated Bucksport 59-38 in their regualr season finale.

Piscataquis community high school (PCHS) will host Bucksport in the 8/9 prelim game game.

PCHS (10-8) earned the home game by winning three of their last four regular season games.

Bucksport (9-9) lost two of their last three games during the regular season. They did have a big win over George Stevens late in the season.
