DEXTER--- The Dexter Tigers girls basketball team will have 10 returning players from a team that finished last season with a record of 19-1.
Dexter lost to Orono in the semifinals, after finishing the 2012/2013 regular season undefeated.
The lady Tigers are known for their strong defense and this season should be no different.
Junior Michaela White is one of the best defenders in class C.
White has missed most of the preseason with a broken bone in her wrist, she suffered during soccer season.
She is expected to be ready for the regular season opener against Bangor Christian.
Senior Abbie Melvin will provide senior leadership.
Melvin and freshman Megan Peach will be a strong post duo for the Lady Tigers.
Peach scored 11 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a 56-44 preseason victory over Madison.
Melvin scored a game high 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the victory over the Bulldogs.
Junior Tasha Pratt will handle the point guard duties.
Peyton Watson, Bobbie Chambers, and Abbey Jordan will add to a strong back-court.
The lady Tigers will need to replace a strong graduating class, including starters Lauren Crane and Jordyn Bell.
The Eastern Maine high school sports examiner picked Dexter to finish fifth in a wide open class C.
