Dexter girls get big win over Foxcroft

Abbie Melvin and the Dexter girls basketball team earned a victory over Foxcroft Academy.

DOVER-FOXCROFT-- If you do not have a Dexter Tigers girls basketball roster, you may think Megan Peach is a junior or senior.

Peach is actually a freshman, who recorded 20 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks, and three steals in leading Dexter to a 43-34 victory over Foxcroft on Tuesday evening.

Dexter coach Jody Grant said, "Megan just continues to keep getting better every single day."

Brianna Skolfield has put up some amazing numbers recently for the Ponies.

The Tigers limited Skolfield to 14 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.

Grant said, "Great team effort defensively, including Abbie Melvin working really hard to limit Skolfield's touches."

Michaela White recorded 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Tigers.

Julia Annis recorded four points, 10 rebounds, and three steals for the Ponies.

Dexter (8-2) avenged a December 12th loss to Foxcroft. The lady Tigers have won six straight and are currently number one in the MPA class C heal point standings.

Things will not get any easier for the Ponies. Foxcroft (6-4) will host undefeated Presque Isle on Saturday. They will travel to high powered MDI next Tuesday.
