Dexter girls basketball cruise to victory over Penquis

DEXTER-- The Dexter Tigers girls basketball team jumped out to a 23-3 lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 72-11 victory over the Penquis Patriots at Guiski Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.

Freshman Megan Peach led the lady Tigers with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Macie Melvin came off the bench to score 11 points. Michaela White also finished in double figures with 10.

Peyton Watson, Abbie Melvin, Abbey Jordan, and Brooke Chambers scored six points each.

Tasha Pratt and Dana Webber added five points each. Bobbie Chambers chipped in with three points, Syler Theodore added two for the Tigers.

Dexter (2-0) will host Foxcroft Academy on Thursday.

Jessica Preble led the Patriots with nine points.

Penquis (0-2) will play at PCHS on Saturday.
