DeVry University and the Chamberlain College of Nursing are being closed at Chicago-area campuses due to a potential security issue, according to a Chicago Tribune report on Monday.

At this time, the officials at the schools are not giving reasons for the security concerns. However, the two schools’ online web sites have posted alerts which assert that all of the DeVry University and Chamberlain College of Nursing campuses in Chicago, Addison, and Tinley Park are closed for the day and all classes have been cancelled.

Specifically, DeVry University’s web site said that they were informed of a potential security issue involving their Chicago area campuses, and for the safety and security of their students, faculty, and colleagues, they are closing all Chicago-area Chamberlain and DeVry University campuses.

Updates on the story indicate that a threatening email was received which prompted the closings. Other details regarding the email have not been released - other than the email sender identified himself or herself.
