Devoured Phoenix Does It Again (Photos)

No cloudy skies or periodic rain droplets could keep foodies from taking over the Phoenix Art Museum to enjoy an abundance of food and drinks from some of the best locally owned restaurants in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

As a first-time Devoured Phoenix attendee, I was very excited to attend, I was a little nervous about going because I was not sure if there would be anything that I could eat--thank goodness this nervousness didn’t last long! As I continued to make my way through the crowds, the site of the tables adorned with beautiful tablescapes and food styled to perfection I was mesmerized and lured closer and closer to the table! There was food everywhere and even though I could not consume it all, I was intrigued by the chef’s enthusiasm and food presentation! There were many restaurants at the event that offered a number of gluten free, vegan and healthy menu items. So, I can truly say that Devoured Phoenix has definitely earned it’s reputation as being a premier culinary event that showcases food and drink producers and purveyors with a focus on locally owned restaurants.

There were over 50 restaurants present with demonstrations and samples on Saturday, March 9th and Sunday, March 10th, and many of those restaurants offered gluten free and vegan options. Below are a few gluten free friendly restaurants/businesses that I visited; these places either has gluten free menu options or gluten free accommodations. However, please note that these restaurants are not certified as gluten free, so if you are allergic to gluten, please call ahead or ask the servers before ordering for someone who can speak with you about the menu and preparation of the food.

At the end of a delicious, fun-filled food day, I was able to enjoy looking at the the beautiful artwork, especially the display of 30,000 butterflies that were placed by hand and mounted throughout the museum! What better way to enjoy the day…food, drinks and art!

If you did not get the opportunity to attend, you definitely need to add Devoured Phoenix to your 2014 list of must do events!
